If you were fortunate enough to be at the most recent NPPL event in San Diego then I'm pretty positive that you didn't miss out on checking the lineup that Redz International has lined up for the 06 year dubbed eNVy.
First up, the most obvious, Redz started out making harnesses and so the 06 harness is where we'll start off. The belt for the new pack is thinner than the current Comfort Belt so it's not so „girdle“ like. I don't know if I'll like this change or not cuz the current belt is very comfortable. But the players (from Arsenal and REdz Sedition) that were wearing them at San Diego all assured me that I wouldn't be disappointed with the feel of the new belt.
The Pack itself has some major improvements. For one, there are finally elastic straps which Redz proudly calls the „Torpedo Launch System“ to force the pod into your palm once the velcroed strap is undone. Another improvement is that the pack has soft neoprene material along the outside edge of the pack to aide in deflecting those annoying paintballs. Elastic straps are on the outer edge of the pack enabling you to carry extra pods. Elastic straps also are tucked between the primary pod compartments.
The new Redz gloves are massively improved from the 05 models. Along the knuckles, Redz have put a softer material to increase the chances of a ball deflecting off rather than breaking. The finger tips are also double stitched so that if you choose to cut off the tips the stitching won't come undone. Kevlar is along the palms to add protection and to lessen wear and tear for even the most aggressive of divers and sliders.
06 Redz eNVy pants are now a zipper and button fly front with belt loops. They are no longer the pajama/sweat pants as before. The ventilation and kevlar enforced knees are still there. One innovative offering on the new pants are the convexed knees. This expanded area allows more room for your knee pads.
The 05 Redz Dimension Jersey definitely were more stylish than the previous offerings that Redz offered before that. The 06 Redz eNVy Jersey looks to be pretty much the same jersey base as the 05 with a new sublimated design. The polyester based jersey in conjunction with the venting will keep you cooler and drier.
All these new offerings from Redz International should be ready for consumers at the end of October.
